Thermocouple Sheathing is used as immersion in the aluminium bath for molten metal temperature control. They are made up of silicon carbide and molybdenum disilicide and can withstand temperature up to 1500°C. Thermocouple Sheath are used in degassing of non ferrous molten metal and has been designed in such a way that no molten metal sticks to it. They are available in various sizes with measurement ranging from 8 mm to 14mm ID, 42 mm to 50 mm OD and length of 2 meters.
The rejection rate of coasting is considerably lower as the Thermocouple Sheathing allows the temperature of the molten metal to be controlled within one degree centigrade. They require corrosion resistance and very high temperature strength without the use of elements that may poison the Thermocouple.
